The Flowers We Keep
2023 - Present
Exhibited in 2025 at the Metropolitan Center for Visual Arts (VisArts) in Rockville, MD
This body of work is informed by collected and documented ephemera from my personal photo archive, representing the everyday routines, rituals, and environments that shape our lived experiences. Using CMYK process screenprinting, I transfer these images onto fabric, which I then piece together into patchwork quilts, creating layered and collaged collections of imagery.
This ongoing series explores how the act of collecting and digitally documenting one's surroundings functions as both a comforting ritual and a means of preserving ephemeral landscapes. These landscapes become markers of evolving identities and shifting senses of place, reflecting the intersections and collisions between natural and built environments. Through the accumulation and recombination of images, the work considers how memory, observation, and documentation shape our understanding of self and space.
